Congratulations to Team "System Override"
January 18, 2018

Congratulations to our first-ever FTC team, "System Override," for competing in the FTC qualifying tournament and advancing to the semi-finals! The tournament was held on January 13th at the Albany Academies. More than two dozen teams of students in grades 7-12 from the region participated in the robotics tournament. Teams were responsible for designing, building and programming robots to compete in this year's challenge, "Relic Recovery." The object of the game was to form an alliance and score more points against the opposing alliance. Teams, including coaches and mentors, were required to develop strategy and build robots that could navigate a 12 ft. x 12 ft. playing field, retrieving and transferring objects to score points.
We had a great time and learned a lot. As one of six qualifying teams, System Override will be advancing to the Hudson Valley Regional Competition being held at Pace University on February 11th. Great job everyone!
Special thanks to SIM Albany for the generous donation that made participation in this advanced-level robotics program possible, and to Cobleskill-Richmondville CSD for allowing us to use their space for our weekly meetings.
