The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition is off to a flying start! For a second year in a row, SMIST is sponsoring a team.
This year, team #12915, System Override, comprises 7 students from the greater Schoharie-Mohawk region, representing 5 different school districts along with a few homeschooled teens.
The 2018-2019 FTC season, called Rover Ruckus, challenges teens to create a robot that can descend from a lander and then collect minerals from a crater, sorting and scoring these minerals into the cargo hold of the lander. The robot should also be able to perform autonomous tasks such as navigate to specific parts of the playing field.
System Override will compete with other local teams on January 19th, 2019 at the regional FTC competition hosted by Albany Academy.
